"Nobody Cares About Epstein": Donald Trump’s Callous Words and the Haunting Cost of Indifference

In my article, I deliberately included the references to “Christine Blasey Ford” and “Trump unleashed a barrage of conspiracy-laced grievances.” Why did I do that? Because Trump said:

“Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein.”

as if pursuing justice for victims is somehow a waste of time! but his pursue of justice for himself is justified? Double standard!

Also, why is Donald J. Trump so fixated on Rosie O'Donnell, spending years attacking her in interviews, speeches, and tweets yet he tells the public not to waste time on Epstein? He’s wasted plenty of energy on Rosie. But when it comes to sexual abuse victims and accountability for an elite predator, suddenly he wants us all to move on?

On July 12, 2025, at 5:21 PM EST, former President Donald J. Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social and wrote a sentence that should chill any person with a shred of humanity left:

“Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.”

This is not a misquote. These are the exact words of a man who holds the highest office in the land and who is now attempting to silence victims. In a post defending Attorney General Pam Bondi, Trump unleashed a barrage of conspiracy-laced grievances against his usual enemies (Obama, Clinton, Comey, Brennan, Biden, and “51 Intelligence Agents”), before arriving at what he framed as the real distraction: the persistent demands for justice surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.

Let us not forget: Epstein was a convicted sex offender. He ran a documented and deeply disturbing international sex trafficking ring, exploiting underage girls and allegedly enabling his powerful friends to do the same. These girls now grown women have spent years reliving the trauma, fighting to be heard, and begging for transparency and accountability.

And yet here we are: the man who wants to “Make America Great Again” telling the public not to waste time on Epstein, because, in his words, “nobody cares.”

That line “nobody cares about Epstein” is more than offensive. It’s morally bankrupt. It spits in the face of survivors. It diminishes the efforts of investigative journalists, attorneys, law enforcement officers, and victims’ rights advocates who have fought to keep Epstein’s crimes and his powerful enablers in the public eye.

But let’s be brutally honest: this statement is not just tone-deaf. It’s dangerous.

The Consequences of Indifference

Trump’s declaration is the culmination of a pattern. It’s the same attitude that dismissed the "Access Hollywood" tape as locker-room talk. The same attitude that undermined Christine Blasey Ford. The same attitude that repeatedly demonizes whistleblowers, journalists, and women brave enough to speak out.

What happens when the most powerful voices in America tell you justice doesn’t matter?

  • Victims go silent.
  • Investigations stall.
  • Evidence gets buried.
  • Accountability dies.

And worst of all, abusers learn they are untouchable.

Real People, Real Pain

Epstein’s victims are not political pawns. They are survivors many of whom were just children when the abuse began. Their testimonies paint a grotesque picture of coercion, grooming, rape, and psychological manipulation. Many suffer from lifelong PTSD, anxiety, addiction, and depression. Their lives were fractured by Epstein and, allegedly, the elite social web he operated within.

When Trump scoffs at their pursuit of justice, calling it a “waste,” he is aiding and abetting the cultural rot that allowed Epstein to thrive for so long.

The Truth Behind the Files

Trump frames the Epstein files as some sort of partisan hoax: “Files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration…” But these documents weren’t manufactured by Democrats. They’re court records, grand jury transcripts, legal filings, survivor testimony, flight logs, and photo evidence pieces of a horrifying mosaic that continues to grow.

His question "Why didn’t these Radical Left Lunatics release the Epstein Files?" has an obvious answer: much of the material has been released, and more continues to surface. The real question is: Why are people still trying to suppress it?

The Political Cost?

Trump won’t lose his core base over this post. The cult of personality surrounding him is nearly impervious to scandal. But what about moderate Republicans, suburban women, and independents? What about voters with daughters? With hearts?

The erosion is already happening. Slowly. Quietly. Each outrageous statement leaves a mark. And this one may be the deepest yet.

Because when a former president tells the world that victims of sex trafficking don’t matter when he implies that uncovering crimes against minors is a distraction he’s no longer just politically controversial. He’s morally complicit.

And America deserves better.

Let us remember the names of the victims. Let us honor their stories. Let us care.

Even if Donald J. Trump thinks nobody does.
