All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.-Galileo
- $11 billion for row crops (corn, soybeans, wheat, sorghum, rice, upland cotton, peanuts, etc.)
- Payments start rolling out in February 2026 and will be completed by February 28, 2026.
- This is a one-time direct payment based on your 2025 planted and (or prevented-planted) acres.
- Rates per commodity will be announced by the end of December 2025.
- To be eligible and get the maximum payment, you must have an accurate 2025 acreage report (Form FSA-578) on file with your local FSA office by December 19, 2025. If you haven’t filed yet, do it now, missing the deadline could reduce or eliminate your payment.
- $1 billion reserved for specialty crops (fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, sugar, etc.)
- Program details and timeline are still being finalized. USDA says more information will come “soon” based on ongoing market-loss assessments.
What you should do right now
- Double-check your 2025 acreage report at the FSA office (or file it if you haven’t).
- Make sure your payment limitations, AGI, and conservation compliance are up to date.
